Marcel (Mike) V. Fortin, 87, of East Hartford, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.
Marcel was born in Lewiston, Maine on April 7, 1927, the son of the late Albert and Imelda (Fontaine) Fortin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, then moved to Connecticut and married his beloved wife of 62 years, Rena J. (Poulin) Fortin of Sanford, Maine. Together they lived in East Hartford. Marcel proudly served as an usher at Saint Christopher's Church for many years.

Marcel (Mike) V. Fortin, 87, of East Hartford, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.
Marcel was born in Lewiston, Maine on April 7, 1927, the son of the late Albert and Imelda (Fontaine) Fortin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, then moved to Connecticut and married his beloved wife of 62 years, Rena J. (Poulin) Fortin of Sanford, Maine. Together they lived in East Hartford. Marcel proudly served as an usher at Saint Christopher's Church for many years.
Marcel was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife Rena, daughter Carol L. Woodman, granddaughter Deana L. Keefe, two great grandchildren Adison and Kamden, sister Vivianne, brother Real, several nieces and nephews.
Marcel will be forever missed and has now entered into eternal rest joining his siblings Roland, Romeo, Armand and Rita.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 7th at Saint Christopher's Church, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford, followed by burial with military honors in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
